Transforming the way hundreds of passengers navigate the Dominican Republic’s Massive Transportation System (MTS),
by reimagining the intercity travel experience.

Santo Domingo, one of Latin America's fastest-growing cities, is projected to expand by 4.9% annually by 2035 (BBC News).
Despite being the top choice for many Dominicans, the new Mass Transportation System struggles with long lines and a cash-only payment method.
Uncovering Insights Through Contextual Research
During my inquiry, I observed that:
Seamless Navigation: The integration of Subway and Zipline works well—users know exactly where to go.
Effective Mapping: Opret’s intuitive maps, with clear signs and symbols, make it easy to navigate.
Ticket Reader Issue: Although adding at least RD$35 triggers balance recognition, the reader still fails to acknowledge
the balance when purchasing trips.
Overall Experience: Despite these hiccups, I reached my destination safely,
highlighting opportunities for a more holistic improvement of the Mass Transportation System.
